[Guest] Dance Party with May Park

on December 07, 2016
wfc-20161207-dance-card-may-1 Hi, crafty friends! It's May here and I'm so excited to be guest blogging for Waffle Flower Crafts today. I created a fun card using adorable images from the Willy & Friends stamp set. wfc-20161207-dance-card-may-2 As soon as I received this set, I coudln't resist creating my own stamped background. This time I divided my card front into two parts and stamped different images to add interest on my background. wfc-20161207-dance-card-may-3I didn't do any serious blending but simple coloring with Copic markers to enhense the graphic look of my card design. Here is a step-by-step photo tutorial on how I made my card: wfc-20161207-dance-card-may-41. Draw a line vertically using a pencil and ruler in the middle of A2 size white cardstock. 2. Stamp the monkeys from the Willy & Friends stamp set with black ink. (I first stamped the accesaries and masked them off with post-it note. Then I stamped the monkeys.) wfc-20161207-dance-card-may-53. After stamping two monkeys, mask off the right side of card front with post-it note. Then stamping banners and flowers with black ink. 4. After done stamping on the left side of card front, start stamping on the right side as well. wfc-20161207-dance-card-may-65. Remove the mask and color the images with Copic markers. Then remove the pencil line using an eraser. 6. Stamp the sentiment from the Willy & Friends stamp set with Versafine Watermark ink on a piece of black cardstock. Next, heat emboss it with white embossing powder and cut it out. Finish off the card by popping up the sentiment on the card front using foam tape. wfc-20161207-dance-card-may-7That's all for today. Thank you so much for joining me. Happy crafting! ~May   Supplies: Willy & Friends Stamp Set

[Guest] Cards for Gift Cards with Amy Yang

on December 05, 2016
Hello everyone!!! I’m so happy to be back guesting for Waffle Flower Crafts. During the holiday season I purchase a lot of gift cards to give to family members and for people I’d like to thank, like teachers. So I wanted to design projects that be can be mass produced to hold my gift cards. wfc-20161128-gift-card-amy-1 For these projects I used the Gift Bag Die, which I think is an awesome die to have around. It’s just so perfect to hold gift cards and other small gifts like jewelry. You can decorate it to fit any occasion and it looks great on top of cards. I also used Faye Stamp Set, Stocking Stamp Set, and the Willy and Friends Stamp Set. If you don’t want to include the monkeys, you can easily make these projects using the gift bag die set and the stocking stamp set. It’ll look just as nice…I’ll probably do that all the male recipients. I started this project by stamping and coloring the images using copic markers. Next, using colored papers, I used the gift bag die set to cut out the pieces I needed. I didn’t want the cards to have too much dimension (for mailing purposes) so I only used one side of the gift bag with one handle and taped it directly onto the front layer of both cards. Then, I stamped sentiment, Merry Christmas. Lastly, I used double sided tape to adhere the monkeys and their accessories to the front of the gift bags. wfc-20161128-gift-card-amy-2 wfc-20161128-gift-card-amy-3 For the next project I made the gift bag using two of the die cuts. I adhered the two pieces together along with the handles using double sided tape. Once again, I decorated the front of the gift bag using my colored images. Since there was no place to stamp or write I made a mini card, the size of the gift bag pocket. I taped the card directly onto the back of the gift bag. This allowed me to stamp a sentiment and write a little message. You can close the card using clear tape. wfc-20161128-gift-card-amy-4 wfc-20161128-gift-card-amy-5 I had so much fun working with these wonderful products. I hope I have inspired you in some way. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!! ~Amy Supplies: Gift Bag Die Faye Stamp Set Stocking Stamp Set Willy & Friends Stamp Set

[Guest] Festive Friends and Stretching Your Stamps with Amy Yang

on November 07, 2016
Hello everyone!! It's Amy here today! I’m so happy to be guesting with Waffle Flower Crafts for the first time! Have you started making your holiday cards? I’m getting an early start this year because I’ve made so many new crafty friends through social media. I’d like to send each of them a special handmade card. wfc-20161014-merry-christmas-amy-1 For both my cards, I used Peace on Earth , Faye and Willy and Friends Stamp Set. I love working with critter stamps so I had fun pairing the bold and gorgeous holiday sentiments with the adorable monkeys to create my cards. wfc-20161014-merry-christmas-and-happy-new-year-amy-2 For my first card, I stamped and colored the images using copic markers. I kept the card design simple to let the characters and the sentiment stand out. One thing I did do here is stretch my stamps by making small changes to the characters using my copic friendly pen. I drew some lines and dots to create dressy outfits for the monkeys, it’s that simple. Don’t they make an adorable couple ready for a Holiday Party! Photo 3 20161014-merry-christmas-and-happy-new-year-amy-4P For my second card, it’s pretty much the same thing with a different color scheme and sentiment. Once again, I colored the images with copic markers. I added glossy accent to the heart for shine and dimension.   wfc-20161014-merry-christmas-amy-5 Thank you for stopping by today!!! [Guest] Thank You a Bunch Card by Torico

on May 31, 2016
Hi everyone! It’s Torico here again with another card I made using the Willy & Friends stamp set. WFC160530-1 Last time I made a pile of bananas. This time I stacked up pineapples using the masking technique. Claire wants to add one more pineapple to show her gratitude and Willy helps her. Cute? ☺ WFC160530-2 For my background I chose some patterned paper that match well with the pineapple theme. This is my last post as a guest designer for Waffle Flower. I’d like to say a big Thank You to Nina for giving me this great opportunity! I hope you all enjoyed my cards I shared this past few months. Happy crafting!
Thank you for sharing your talent with us, Torico!

[Guest] Don’t Steal My Bananas! - Torico

on May 19, 2016
Hi everyone! It’s Torico here. Today I’m sharing a fun slider card I made using the Willy & Friends stamp set. WFC160519-1 When you pull out the slider strip… WFC160519-5 WFC160519-6 OMG! Willy has stolen Claire’s bananas!! :) To create this card, I blended light pink, yellow, and light green inks on a white panel, then spritzed it with water. After it completely dried, I cut out a slider track with a craft knife and made a notch on the top edge of the panel using a small circle punch. Then I adhered the panel to a card base with foam tape. I cut a slider strip from a piece of inked card stock and drew a string on it with a black gel pen. WFC160519-3 All the images were colored with Copics. I did a lot of masking to create a pile of bananas! The sentiment, which is from the On My Mark stamp set, was white embossed on a dark brown panel. After I adhered the sentiment panel and the images (except a bunch of bananas) to the inked panel, I inserted the slider strip and adhered the bananas image to it with foam tape. Several sequins were added to finish off the card. Thank you for looking!

[Guest] More Cards from Anna Kossakovskaya

on May 12, 2016
Hello everyone! Anna here with two more cards for Waffle Flower!

Celebrate Card

Celebrate Card For this card, I die cut Celebrate Word Die from white cardstock a few times and stacked the layers to make a dimensional element. I masked the top half of the card base and blended two ink colors on the bottom half. I then diecut Celebrate word out from the inked paper and added the stacked word element behind to create the "chipboard" look. Butterflies are from Welcome Spring stamp set. Celebrate Card Side

Dance Card

Monkey Dance Card This card is a favorite of mine. I was blown away by Willy & Friends stamp set! I can think of so many fun "stories" for these cute monkeys! Monkey Dance Card closeup For this card, I was inspired by the sentiment from this set - "Dance like no one's watching". On the front panel, I masked Willy and stamped Claire on top to make them look like that they are sitting close to each other, watching Faye dance. Monkey Dance Card Side I stamped the hill (from Welcome Spring stamp set) and then stamped, colored and cutout Faye to adhere to card using some foam tape. The rosy cheeks stamps are from Willy & Friends. -Anna Thank you so much for sharing with us today, Anna! We love the clean & graphic look on the celebrate card and love, love the story you are telling with your second card!   Find time to create and make something today!

[Guest] Welcome Spring Card by Anna Kossakovskaya

on April 07, 2016
Hello everyone! Anna here! Welcome Spring Card I combined Welcome Spring stamp set with the cute and fun little monkey from Willy & Friends stamp set. I think everyone who has seen these two sets together would want to put the cute little animals on the monkey's head. I also decided to put the monkey into the basket (- I mean, just look at his eyes! he must be eyeing it for a long time!). Bunny and kitty were on his back and got in the basket too. As a final touch, I added the little hat from Willy & Friends to the kitty's head. Welcome Spring Card closeup I made the background with the tulips from Welcome Spring set using no-line coloring technique. I stamped them with light-grey inks and then colored and blended the background with green and blue Distress inks. Welcome Spring Card Side -Anna Thank you so much for sharing with us today, Anna! Your scene completes Willy's mischievous look! What fun!

[Guest] Easter Shaker Card by Torico

on March 22, 2016
Hi everyone! It’s Torico here and I am so thrilled to be guest designing for Waffle Flower! As Easter is just around the corner, I decided to create an Easter themed shaker card for today. WFC160322-1 First I stamped the grass image from the Egg Hunt stamp set repeatedly on a white panel and colored them with Copics. After I masked them, I daubed some light pink dye ink and stamped the sentiment in black. I cut another white panel and cut out a rectangle window from it using the Lacy Layers Die. After I added a piece of acetate to the window I adhered a yellow scalloped frame cut with the Lacy Layers Die. WFC160322-2 For my shaker elements I put several Easter eggs along with some sequins and glitters. I white embossed the eggs from the Egg Hunt stamp set onto colored card stock (pink, purple, and aqua), colored some part of them with Copics, and cut them out using the matching die. WFC160322-3 I stamped, colored, and die cut Clair from the Willy & Friends stamp set, and gave her a pair of cute bunny ears from the Welcome Spring stamp set. She looks like she is enjoying an Easter egg hunt! Thank you for stopping by! -Torico

Products Willy & Friends Stamp Set Willy & Friends Die Flower Circles Die Good Stuff Stamp Set Good Stuff Die

What Annette Says: I first choose a piece of designer paper that I thought was perfect for the photo inspiration and die cut using Flower Circles Die. I cut this same shape out again using white textured card-stock. I then adhered the shape to my card base inlaying it directly to the card. I then stamped this sweet image from the Willy & Friends Stamp Set, colored, die cut and adhere to card using foam adhesives along with the sentiment and pretty bow from Good Stuff Stamp Set.

Shelly Kurth

Products Lotus Stamp Set Lotus Die With Love Word Die

What Shelly Says: I started by stamping each of my flowers and coloring them in with markers. After, I used the matching dies and ran them through my machine. Once done, I set them aside for the time being. I then started to make my 'scene' so to speak, using my flowers on a piece of white cardstock. One at a time, I placed a die where I wanted my flower to be and ran it through my machine. After, I placed my COLORED die cut piece (again, one at a time) on my white cardstock where I previously had my flower and used my die in the negative spot next to my colored flower. So it would trim my colored flower to fit perfectly with the others. Giving me my 'inlaid die cutting' technique. To finish things off, I used the 'with love' word die to place over the top of my flowers.

Products DT Mix Stamp Set Flutter Stamp Set With Love Word Die

What Laura Jane Says: I masked off the heart shape from Flutter Stamp Set and stamped several flower layers from the DT Mix Stamp Set in colors suggested in the inspiration photo. I then used the With Love Word Die to cut out and inlay the sentiment in GOLD paper.

Products Flower Circles Stamp Set Flower Circles Die With Love Word Die

What Laura Says: I was inspired by the fabulous tones of pink in the February palette and combined a couple of the stamps from the Flower Circle Stamp Set with the matching Flower Circle Die to make this retro style card. The inlay technique is probably one of my favorites and I used it to insert the pieces of the large flower into the background, as well as the pretty sentiment (With Love Word Die). Thanks for letting me play with you this month, it was a lot of fun!
