[Guest] Forever Friends Flower Window Card by Stephanie

on April 12, 2016
Hi everyone! It’s Stephanie here and I am excited to be back on the Waffle Flower blog sharing another card I've created. For today's card I really wanted to make the largest Lacy Flower the focus of my card so I decided to create a fun acetate panel for the flower to adhere to so you can see right through to the inside of the card. ForeverFriends I first diecut the lacy flower from a white cardstock panel, just to get the outer shape of the flower. I then adhered a piece of acetate behind it and layered another piece of white cardstock (with a flower cut out as well) over the acetate on the inside of the card so you can't see any of the adhesive on the acetate piece. Once I had the acetate piece done, I diecut the lacy flower from a piece of aqua glitter paper and adhered the actual flower piece (after poking out all of the insides) directly into the open area on the acetate. Once it's adhered it kind of looks like it's floating and you can see inside the card. Friends2 Once I had the flower part done, I adhered a couple strips of patterned paper down the left side of the card and then I stamped the sentiment from the Lacy Flower stamp set onto a white cardstock strip that I adhered over the center area of the flower. I stamped some of the hearts from the same stamp set, coloured them in to match the card and cut them out with my scissors. I adhered them on to the card front with some clear sequins to complete the card. Thanks so much for visiting today! I'll be back later this month with another card to share! ;)

Happy Monday, everyone! Time for some inspiration from the Challenge Team! Shelly, Laura Jane along with our guest spot winner Amina are here to share their takes on this month's Waffle Flower Challenge! Join the fun by linking your projects to our challenge too! wfc-201604-photo Marcie Sharp Products: Magical Stamp Set Lacy Flowers Die Celebrate Word Die Lacy Flower Mats Die WFC 4-11 Marcie Sharp What Marcie Says: I used the colours in the inspiration picture and channelled all the springtime vibes I could to create a pretty floral focal piece for my card. The Lacy Flower Mats Die and Lacy Flowers Die made this SO easy to do. Repeatedly stamping the thin lines from the Magical set and adding few ink splatters in a tone on tone look make a plain yellow card base a little more interesting. Finally, a bold pink sentiment draws your eye right where it needs to go and sequins give it a bit of bling. :) Daria Grushina Products: Leafy Stamp Set WFC 4-11 Daria Grushina What Daria Says: I was inspired by the gorgeous bouquet from the inspiration photo and decided to make my own... Unfortunately I do not have any umbrella die (that would look cool too)... So I just took a piece of craft cardstock to make the packaging and then colored and fussy cut lots and lots of flowers from Leafy Stamp set... Using coordinating dies would be so much faster... but they are still on my shopping list (wink) Shona Chambers Products: Awesome Word Die Congrats Stamp Set Willy Stamp Set Welcome Spring Stamp Set WFC 4-11 Shona Chambers What Shona Says: Using the tulip image as the focal point, I stamped the images in black on the card front and coloured with pencils. The word die was die-cut 3x, glued together and adhered to the card along with the rest of the sentiment. Thank you for sharing such beautiful creations with us, Ladies! We're lucky to have you! Find time to create and make something today!

[Five for Friday] - Crushing on Coral by Lorena

on March 25, 2016
DesignTeamHeadshots-LorenaCantoHello there! Lorena here with a brand new Five for Friday post full of inspiration! Lately, I’ve been in love with all things coral. It’s a really pretty color, perfect for both Spring and Summer, and it combines beautifully with soft shades (like mint), with bold ones (turquoise!) and even with trendy metalics. Here are a few coral crushes I’m having right now…
  1. Let’s start with an amazing coral reef. Because, you know, it wasn’t Anthropologie that invented this shade * wink *

  1. An ombre coral cake? Yes, please!!!

  1. Coral seems to be hot for bridesmaids gowns, but you can wear it anytime! This dress is proof. Isn’t it gorgeous, combined with navy trellis?

  1. This fabric: Fluffy llamas on a flowery coral background. I. just. can’t. even…

  1. The beautiful coral is making a dent in décor, too. I love how beautifully curated this little corner is.
coral 5 source So the occasion called for some coral paper crafting, and here’s what I did. WFC coral 1 I double die cut the A2 panel from Lacy Layers die to make a square panel in coral, and then used the Lacy Flowers  and Lacy Flowers Mats die to make some inlaid die cutting over vellum. WFC coral 2 I finished the card with Celebrate word die cut from glittery gold fun foam, and gold twine. WFC coral 3 I also tried some tone on tone coral on this tag, but this time I used glittery white fun foam for the sentiment, which comes from the Congrats die set. WFC coral 4 I hope you enjoyed this coral parade! Happy weekend! -Lorena
