I am working on a Scor-pal version but for now it is a printable template:)

UPDATE: Scor-Pal Version is Here!

Let's get started! :")

Step 1: Download the Template Here

Step 2: Print - The finished box is 2'' x 2'' x 2'' when printed 100% on Letter Sized paper.

If printed image is not completed, try with printer settings set to "Fit to Page" or "Scale to Fit ...".

Step 3: Score and Fold according to instructions in the template.

Step 12: Decorate as desired

There are two triangle shapes included in my template. There will be a 1/8'' gap all around the shape when added.

Or just cut 4 pieces of 2'' x 2'' squares:

I stamped and inked the edges. Cut them as show(1 into 4 pieces, others into 2 pieces) You can also cut photos.

Remember to leave a gap in the middle so the box can still be folded down.

You can stamp directly on the box in Step 4 for this printable template :)

Enjoy~

This template is inspired by Sizzix XL Die - Twist Cube, Pop-up 3D by Karen Burniston. The die is awesome: bigger box (3-1/4''), no more scissors nor scoring. Karen's design also adds strength to both top and bottom. The video and instructions on their product page are very helpful.

I am not associated with Sizzix in any way. It is just that the convenience and uniformity of the die cannot be comprised with my template. So if you really like this box design, this die would be a nice choice.

Geodesic Ornament - Paper Ball with Ball Knot

on September 07, 2011

I was browsing Pinterest yesterday and found this super cool but easy to make 3D ornament tutorial

Geodesic Ornament Tutorial I like her trick on the scoring template:)

And I made this: (Took about 1.5 hours… for all the scoring and gluing, haha~)

Geodesic Ornament, Paper Ball

I used decorative cords (or whatever it is called) instead of ribbons. The ball knot is made with this Clover template:) I am still learning~

I made this purse following Scor-pal project instructions here: "The Purse Collection"

I have had scor-pal for about a year and could not imagine how I could do without it :) I love making paper boxes and when I first discovered all the possibilities from score-pal projects list here: http://www.scor-pal.com/projects_listing.htm I was overwhelmed with joy~ ;-D

I just learned that they have monthly challenges, see here for this month: September Scor-pal Designer Challenge

And here is my take:

UPDATE 21/Sep/2011: I refined the template. Do remember to choose "Fit to Page" in printer settings :) Enjoy! UPDATE: I went a little crazy and made this pile: Printed on 6x6 pattern paper (chose 4''x6'' size in printer settings) Now only need to find time to decorate them:) Tiny Takeout Boxes I scanned a real takeout box and made this template today. The original size is 10''x10''  before folding. This template is for Letter sized paper so most home printers can print. Finished size: 2.5'' x 2.5'' x 1.75''. I was too lazy to glue the flaps: #10 staples used here: They will make great Halloween Treat Boxes too! Halloween Treat Box Stamps: Lawn Fawn - Hats Off to You Studio Calico - Labels A little tip for a professional looking crisp fold: Pre-score all the fold lines, using a scoring tool or back of your craft knife. :) Download Template from Craftsy! (Support this blog by registering at Craftsy.) Download Here (If you just want the pattern) UPDATE: 02/19/2012 - I just found out that Lifestyle Crafts has a Take-out Box Die! Perfect for mass production! All you need to worry about is how to decorate your box! And you can use the code WAFFLE to get 20% off everything there. Enjoy~~~
